Page history last edited by Jan Smith 9 mos ago

Teachers' Domain is an online library of more than 1,000 free media resources from the best in American public television. These classroom resources include video and audio segments, Flash interactives, images, documents, lesson plans for teachers, and student-oriented activities. Grades K-12, all subjects. Although the resources are American, there is more than enough here for Canadian learners. Terrific multimedia site.

  • KnowSchools
  • KnowSchools offers on-line technology  professional development, and it’s free to BC educators. Courses are presented in Moodle (it’s just a website with built-tools to support learning) by experts with facilitators to help you navigate the Moodle. You can dip in and out of these 5 day courses on your own time. They are archived so you can go back and learn more.

  • VoiceThread

A VoiceThread is an online media album that can hold essentially any type of media (images, documents and videos) and allows people to make comments in 5 different ways – using voice (with a microphone or telephone), text, audio file, or video (with a webcam) - and share them with anyone they wish. It’s free, though you can get an education membership with more control options. Hugely powerful, very versatile.

  • Animoto

Animoto for Education helps you and your students create video from still pictures. It’s a free, quick, and pretty easy way to create video. These videos can then be imbedded in a website, or you can view them from your online account, upload to YouTube or email them.
